I was asked why there’s a zionist claim that the Palestininian identity is not legitimate. And I think it’s important to understand why Palestinians as a whole are seen as a threat by Israel. To understand why it’s not about Hamas.
The claim is that the Palestininian identity was made up in order to push us out. Palestinian existence is a threat to the legitimacy of Israel as a country.
I was taught in school that Palestine was empty when we got here. They used a Mark Twain quote. It was a barren land full of swamps and some nomadic people (Beduins) but as soon as we wanted to come here, the awful antisemitic Arabs sent people to settle here before we could to take up the space. I was in school in the settlements though. I was taught the most extreme version of this.
Another version of this is that Palestine was never its own thing, they’re just Arabs the same as all Arabs from the surrounding countries. So they could just… scooch over and give us the space, please and thank you. In Israel no one uses the term Palestinian. If I do, people roll their eyes and dismissively go “Arab.” An Arab is an Arab. It’s a way to strip away their unique identity and blend them in with the rest to say they could always move to Jordan, or Syria, or Lebanon, and it’s all the same to them.
It’s a way to make Palestinian existence by itself into a malicious plot to deny us a homeland.
Because if Palestinians exist as a distinct group of people, we aren’t the only ones with a connection to this land. And you don’t create an ethnostate by sharing.
I see other forms of this mentality. Why won’t all these Muslim countries take the people of Gaza as refugees? That’s asking why they won’t help Israel make its ethnic cleansing more neat and convenient. Yes, refugees should be taken in and given shelter. But this question shifts responsibility away from Israel. Palestinians shouldn’t be forced suffer either ethnic cleansing that leaves them as refugees, or a genocide.
It’s a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won’t be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It’s a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It’s a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don’t aim so high that you won’t be hitting anything!

so some news about AI. It seems Discord is apparently just. going to unconsentually add Clyde AI to servers in a slow roll out. The way they are doing this is rather than how we initially suspected he would show up as an option via the integrations tab on server settings, it appears that he is apparently being added into servers as a user who is part of the server that the admin would have to manually kick. He cannot be banned, but we can kick him repeatedly. The issue is it’s unclear if there will be a greeting message for when Clyde arrives into servers and he will attempt to infiltrate again and again. Small servers this is easy to spot, big servers this is an obvious issue of sifting through who is in your server.
if you see this man in your server kill him
Important to note this has only been seen so far in a friend server and I have only seen it in one server so far. Community servers might be different it is simply something we do not know yet.

Aside from that I was able to go into permissions and make it so nobody in my server could interact with Clyde. I still do not know what information Clyde and by extension OpenAI has from what it might have taken from my server to “make Clyde better” there was no warning and no message despite how discord had pitched this. It says in this article that it will notify users but Discord did not do that at all.

Another update! You can only kick Clyde in mobile if you are a server mod and you have to go through server settings and then members and click on clyde and then block!

The workaround for banning the bot doesn’t work anymore, but thanks to a reddit user, banning it via number ID DOES work, and I tested it myself to be sure!

Unironically, vegans need to be advocating for more and better sheep, llama, and alpaca farms. Wool is one of the best fabrics we have in terms of versatility, longevity and most importantly, insulation. Even wet, it retains 80% of it’s insulation potential.

Wool farming, if done with an eye on animal welfare*, does absolutely nothing to harm a sheep or alpaca. It’s no different than a haircut. And just like a haircut, it’ll grow right back. If your argument is that sheep may be cut in this process—very occasionally a sheep may be nicked. To be clear, I say NICKED, not cut. Think about shaving your legs or face and hitting a bump, and ow, you bleed a couple drops. That is what may, rarely, happen. But RARELY, because farmers are going to take damn good care of the animals who keep them in funds. Should it happen, it’s as much an accident as you finding that bump while shaving.
Likewise y’all should be promoting ethical beekeeping and honey farming. Bees are unique among livestock in that if they don’t like their keeper, if they think the hive is shitty, they can, and will, just…leave. You can’t put a collar or ear tag on a bee. Bee populations are declining and they’re incredibly important in our biodiversity (as pollinators, yes, but also in other ways). And bees do, indeed, make too much honey for themselves. That’s why they swarm. A nest gets too full of comb, or they outgrow it, and they just dip. Swarming is dangerous because it leaves the bees vulnerable—the queen is mostly unprotected, they have only as much food as they could carry with them so if it’s late in the season they’re dead meat, humans spot swarms and freak out and send exterminators because they don’t realize swarms aren’t dangerous as long as you’re calm….it is, BY FAR, better to have bees in a hive that never overfills, where they can be checked for parasites and diseases that would destroy the colony or even an entire apiary and can receive honey substitute rather than starving to death if winter should be particularly harsh or long, and where an excess of their natural product and instincts can be siphoned off for the benefit of humans with no detriment to the bees.
Honey is less harmful to us and to the planet we live on than agave syrup, stevia, or cane sugar. It does not rely on any kind of slave labor (again: if the bees weren’t happy, they’d leave). It does not upset entire economies. And by its nature there are more independent keepers than there are giant conglomerates, which is better all the way around! (Although the conglomerates are trying to change that, so like. Support your local beekeepers.) Plus, old no-longer-needed honeycomb is made of beeswax, which can be used in all manner of things in lieu of more harmful chemicals like phthalates. There is no downside here!
“Never do anything involving an animal ever” should not be the goal. That completely ignores that we are animals that grew up in a complete ecosystem. “Do the least amount of harm and be good stewards, because this planet doesn’t belong to only us” should be the goal.

he and his audience have been actively working to find and credit the original creators of the clips she stole, contact them when appropriate to let them know that sssniperwolf was using their videos and profiting off of their hard work, and help them file DMCA takedowns against her
(if you haven’t seen one of his sssniperwolf bbbingo videos on jjjacksfilms, please go watch one for context. the bingo itself is pretty funny, but then it’s broken up by first hand accounts from smaller or casual creators—including CHILDREN—reaching out to Jack for support because sssniperwolf stole their content and made fun of them or other shitty behavior towards them. multiple people have shared that sssniperwolf’s theft damaged their self esteem and creative drive so badly that they stopped making videos. it’s fucking heartbreaking)
the upside is that, with Jack and others calling her out and encouraging the original creators to file DMCA takedowns against her for copyright infringement, they are making a real difference:multiple videos of hers have been edited and re-uploaded to remove clips from creators who filed complaints, in some cases enough to bring the video under 8 minutes so that it can’t get mid-roll ads anymore. there’s even a whole video that’s just gone now, completely deleted from her channel, because so many people have come forward to file takedowns against her, both on their own and directly because of Jack’s support.
she’s reacting so strongly because Jack has been standing up for and supporting her victims, and in doing so, has hurt her income.
it’s absolutely terrifying behavior but it’s also a sign that even though YT isn’t really doing anything, the fight against her is effective anyway. filing DMCA takedowns against freebooters and “reactors” like her works! that’s really exciting!
anyway keep pressuring Team YT to respond properly to this mess. also stan Jacksfilms, he’s one of the OGs on YT and has been such an important part of the community, encouraging and inspiring a lot of young creators, and fostering a very fun and collaborative environment with his fans. his iphone parody videos are hilarious.
